Welcome to Plum & Pepper


Why Plum and Pepper, you may ask? Well, for starters, they are the flavours of my favourite wine, Syrah, and I’m always happy to sit down and share a glass (or two) with a friend. 

More than that, though, I love the rich, juicy sweet-tart flavour of fresh plums, and the toffeed intensity of dried ones. I love how versatile plums are, how they can work in savoury dishes or sweet ones. And I love, too, how plums are one of the last remaining fruits you can only get in season. You never see them in January; when they arrive in markets, you know you’re in the waning days of summer, and it’s time to make the most of the season’s fresh bounty.

As for the pepper, everything could use a spicy little kick, don’t you think?

And that’s my whole philosophy behind this website. I want to share delicious food, drink and travel with you, both spicy adventures and comforting fare.
